very draft, idea for poster outline

 I got the image that we took during the process of the film making and I got rid of the background by cropping it, then contrasting the picture black and white. The image has double meaning- as Imran in the mask is looking sideways, which could mean interest from the masks point of view or the mask could be trying to intermediate the victim, this gets people thinking. Also the strap line '3:00 am is when it strikes' context illustrates theme of paranormal activities/ horror genre- tells people about the movie and automatically connects with potential audience who may have an interest for paranormal activities.  

Idea for Magazine cover

Used many intertextuality elements from Scream magazine, as it conveys bold colours, which made the magazine look professional, moreover the movie featured is the same genre- horror to our movie, so we tried to study how the magazine portrayed the suspense and fear on the cover using image, sub titles, colour, which we need to illustrate  and apply to our magazine cover.

This is the bedroom clip, we tried to create a realistic Mise-en-scene for a teenager, so we used the magazine, phone and teddy bears as props. Moreover we filmed in a group's sisters bedroom; so the representation of a teenagers room was accurately portrayed. 

Another prop that we used is the mask, we used it as a prop, because it connoted and fear of the unknown. 

We used lipstick to draw on the mirror, to make it look like blood.

 

We used knifes, since it was a conventional prop used in horror movies, we wanted our trailer teaser to have some of the classic elements that a horror movie has.

Mise-en-scene: denotation if girl in the bathroom, denoted from an over shoulder shot. Conventional setting of horror movies; intertextuality from What lies beneath- bathroom scene. We filmed this shot from an over shoulder shot to build suspense and to create fear of something watching over the girl.

 

We changed the clock to 3 am, as our movie is about illuminate and evil, and since 3am is believed to be  in the biblical terms in 3:00 to 4:00 is when jesus died in the cross,  it turns out that's when the negativity of evil began to grow, moreover it is an intertextual from most horror movies e.g. Exorcism.

We used flash to create a contrasting light, which we hoped would portray or symbolise atmosphere being unbalanced.

Today we found out that the footage got deleted because a group member dragged the wrong files into the computer. So now we are planning to re-film our teaser trailer again. But now hopefully we're expecting to mend the mistakes we made while filming, these mistakes include:

• the lighting in the bedroom, so instead were using the flash on the camera or the lamp in the dark room to highlight the contrast.
• for the wardrobe shot, instead of actually shooting from the wardrobe (which was too small for a person to film from,  were going to try to make it look like were shooting from a wardrobe instead of actually shooting from the wardrobe.

started filming

Today we went to Hevin's house and started filming. We used props, wig and mask as props. The location of the house: road, bedrooms, living room, hall and staircase. We did not finish shooting the whole  of the trailer teaser; the shots we used were low angle (of the house), high angle (of Lucifer), close up (of main character), medium shots and long shots.
The risks that occurred:

• when we slammed the door it nearly hit my hand, so we changed the timing of the door slam, so that no one could get hurt.
• we were going to use the belt, to make the person look like they were hanging, but because of concerns of Imran tripping, we didn't use the belt.
• When we were using the knife-  we didn't allow two people to be in the same shot.
